The Appellate Division represents OPD clients in direct appeals from the circuit courts to Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.  If the Court of Appeals of Maryland or the United States Supreme Court grants further review, the Appellate Division will represent clients there as well. 

The majority of appeals from criminal cases, juvenile delinquency cases, and child access cases in the State of Maryland are handled by the 26 lawyers of the OPD Appellate Division.
